After Montreal Canadiens' rookie Lane Hutson broke into the NHL with a remarkable rookie season, the Edmonton Oilers are taking a shot on his older brother.
Boston University forward Quinn Hutson signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Oilers, the team announced on Monday.
Huston will make his NHL debut on Monday against the Los Angeles Kings, according to Sportsnet's Jack Michaels.
The 23-year-old right-winger led the Terriers in scoring this with 23 goals and 27 assists for 50 points in 37 games. He was an integral part of Boston's run to the Frozen Four national championship game that ended with a loss to Western Michigan on Saturday.
Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects reports that Hutson will report directly to Edmonton, which will burn one year of the deal and make him a restricted free agent after the 2025-26 season.
Lane and Quinn Hutson's younger brother, Cole, was selected in the second-round, 43rd overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2024 NHL entry draft.
