The New York Rangers have signed restricted free agent goaltender Alexandar Georgiev to a two-year deal worth a reported $2.425 million per season.

Georgiev had a 17-14-2 record in 34 games with the Rangers this past season, posting a 3.04 goals-against average, a .910 save percentage and two shutouts. He joined the Rangers as an undrafted free agent in 2017, becoming the only Bulgarian-born player in the NHL.

The 24-year-old has appeared in 77 career games over parts of three seasons for the Rangers, posting a 35-31-7 record, 3.00 GAA and a .913 save percentage. He also set a single-game franchise record for saves (55) in a win during the 2018-19 season against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
