Mats Zuccarello now stands a better chance of reaching 1,000 career games.
The veteran Oslo, Norway, native signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles on Wednesday, per ESPN's Emily Kaplan.
The 38-year-old will now be signed for what will be his 16th NHL season.
Injuries limited Zuccarello’s play last season to 59 games, in which he scored 15 goals and added 39 assists for the Minnesota Wild after missing the start of the year with a back/lower-body injury.
Signed as a free agent by Minnesota on July 1, 2019, the most prolific and successful Norwegian to play in the NHL has 232 goals and 512 assists for 744 points, along with a plus-48 in 963 games.
Zuccarello, who went undrafted, played nine seasons with the New York Rangers and two games for the Dallas Stars before signing in the State of Hockey.
