The Detroit Red Wings are adding some depth to their forward corps.
Detroit acquired winger Keegan Kolesar from the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday in exchange for a seventh-round pick in 2027 and a third-round pick in 2029, the teams announced
Kolesar has played in 82 regular-season games in back-to-back years for Vegas. In 2025-26, the 29-year-old had six games and 11 assists while averaging 11:32 of ice time per contest.
The Brandon, Man., native also skated in all 21 of the Golden Knights' 22 post-season games during their run to the Stanley Cup Final, chipping in one goal.
Kolesar has spent his entire NHL career with Vegas after being dealt to the expansion franchise by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2017. The right-shot forward was a consistent member of the Golden Knights' lineup during their Stanley Cup victory in 2022-23.
In 439 career games, he has 44 goals and 76 assists.
