Buffalo Sabres forward Taylor Hall, who has a no-move clause, said he would "for sure" listen if general manager Kevyn Adams approached him with trade options.
The comments came during the Sabres' post-game media availability following a 4-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night -- Buffalo's 16th consecutive defeat.
Hall, 29, has two goals and 15 assists through 32 games in his first season in Buffalo, after signing a one-year $8 million deal in the off-season.
Prior to Buffalo, Hall played in Arizona, New Jersey, and Edmonton. A trade would signify his fourth time changing teams in the last five seasons.
Upon initially signing, Adams was hopeful Hall's stay would extend beyond one season.
“We believe in Taylor as a player and a person, and we hope this turns into a long-term relationship for both sides that works,” the GM said in October. “We’ll see where that goes.”
The season hasn't gone as expected for the Sabres, who are currently basement dwellers in the NHL with a 6-22-4 record. Thursday's loss was the club's seventh shutout defeat of the season.
One reason the former Hart Trophy winner signed in Buffalo was to rekindle a relationship with Ralph Krueger, a coach with which Hall had success in Edmonton. Last week, Krueger was fired after the losing streak reached 12 games.
Sabres interim head coach Don Granato was absent on Thursday night against the Penguins after entering COVID-19 protocols.
