Senators' Brady Tkachuk to make season debut Thursday vs. Sharks

Ottawa Senators head coach DJ Smith spoke about fighting the urge to put Brady Tkachuk into the lineup right away.

Brady Tkachuk's season debut for the Ottawa Senators will have to wait another few days.

The 22-year-old winger will not play in Sunday's game against the Dallas Stars as he continues to work towards his first appearance of the season this Thursday, according to head coach D.J. Smith.

Tkachuk signed a seven-year, $57.5-million deal with the Senators last Thursday, ending his holdout amid contract negotiations.

Smith added that Victor Mete will be out of the lineup Sunday and Michael Del Zotto will draw in.
