Ottawa Senators forward Zack MacEwen was ruled out of Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers after suffering a lower-body injury in the first period, the team announced.
The Senators already were short-handed with captain Brady Tkachuk out with an upper-body injury, along with goalies Anton Forsberg (undisclosed injury) and Joonas Korpisalo (illness).
After his team's loss, Senators coach Jacques Martin said MacEwen was going to be re-evaluated.
MacEwen had two goals and one assist in 23 games with the Senators this season.
