The Ottawa Senators are taking no chances as they get set for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Head coach Travis Green confirmed to reporters that the Senators are sitting Brady Tkachuk, Jake Sanderson, Thomas Chabot, Tim Stutzle, and Michael Amadio in their regular-season finale against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+).
James Reimer will also get the start in goal for Ottawa. The veteran signed a professional tryout with his former Leafs during training camp but was not retained and eventually joined the Senators on Jan. 12, posting a 6-4-2 record with a 2.53 goals-against average and a .881 save percentage in 13 appearances.
Toronto will counter with Dennis Hildeby in goal after he was recalled from the AHL's Toronto Marlies on Tuesday. Leafs head coach Craig Berube told reporters that Joseph Woll was not getting the nod because he was "overworked."
Berube also said that Michael Pezzetta will draw in for Calle Jarnkrok, who is dealing with an injury.
The Leafs failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since the 2015-16 season, while the Senators are set to face the Carolina Hurricanes in Round 1.
