The San Jose Sharks announced their 23-man roster to start the 2021-22 season and Evander Kane is not on it.
Kane "is considered a non-roster player pending completion of the NHL's investigation," the team said in a statement.
Kane was away from the team during training camp while the NHL investigates him for two separate allegations.
The first stems from "past behaviour" allegations made by his wife, Deanna Kane, during the couple's divorce proceedings. The second involves allegations he used a fake COVID-19 vaccination card.
In September the NHL cleared Kane of any wrongdoing after Deanna Kane accused him of gambling on NHL games.
The 30-year-old led the Sharks in scoring last season with 22 goals and 49 points in 56 games.
