Logan Stankoven's NHL debut will have to wait.
The forward was loaned back to the Texas Stars, the Dallas Stars' AHL affiliate, just eight hours after he was recalled.
Stankoven is the leading scorer in the AHL with 24 goals and 33 assists in 46 games with Texas.
The Kamloops, B.C., native was the Stars' second-round pick, 47th overall, in the 2021 NHL Draft.
He also was a key member of Canada's gold medal-winning team at the world juniors in 2023, scoring three goals and adding eight assists for 11 points in seven games, in addition to an impressive plus-12.
