The Montreal Canadiens locked up a core player on Wednesday.
Ivan Demidov and the Canadiens agreed to an eight-year, $73-million extension that begins in the 2027-28 season.
Demidov is coming off a season in which he scored 19 goals and 62 points to finish as the runner-up for the Calder Trophy.
Demidov and Canadiens GM Kent Hughes will speak to the media on Wednesday to discuss the extension and Demidov's role moving forward.
