Fresh off an induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame, Brian Burke is getting back to work.
Burke has been hired as a senior hockey operations advisor for the Brantford Bulldogs, the OHL club announced Friday.
Burke's long career in NHL management included stops with the Hartford Whalers, Vancouver Canucks, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames and Pittsburgh Penguins following a stint at the league office.
Burke was inducted into the 2026 Hall of Fame class in the builder category on June, 23.
"I hadn't expected this today, and no one does," said Burke, who won the Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007. "No one starts playing hockey and says, 'Someday I'm going to be in the Hockey Hall of Fame.'"
Burke wasn't the only notable name to receive some good news from the Bulldogs on Friday, as former Toronto Maple Leaf and Calgary Flame Gary Roberts received a promotion.
Roberts was promoted to vice president of hockey operations, the team announced.
A veteran of 1224 games, which included winning the Stanley Cup with the Flames in 1989, Roberts joined the Bulldogs last season as a senior advisor and director of player development.
The Bulldogs finished first in the OHL's Eastern Conference last season with a 48-10-10 record.
