SAINT JOHN, N.B. — A Canadian short-track speedskater who won two medals at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin is selling her skates — and possibly one of the medals — to help finance a comeback for the 2018 Olympics.
Anouk Leblanc-Boucher won individual bronze in the 500 metres and silver in the 3,000-metre relay with teammates Alanna Kraus, Amanda Overland, Kalyna Roberge and Tania Vicent.
Leblanc-Boucher is now known as Anouk English and is a mother of three who lives in New Brunswick.
The 29-year-old native of Prevost, Que., listed the items on the Kijiji website on Feb. 10, with an asking price of $7,000 for the skates.
The silver medal will cost quite a bit more: she told the local CBC affiliate she’d part with it for $1 million.
The bronze medal is not for sale.
