An injury Corey Conners suffered at the U.S. Open will keep him out of at least one event.
The Canadian withdrew from this week's Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn., the PGA Tour announced Tuesday.
Conners remains in the field for the Scottish Open and Open Championship next month, Sportsnet's Adam Stanley reported.
Conners, from Listowel, Ont., withdrew from the U.S. Open prior to the final round on Sunday because of a wrist injury. He originally hurt it after hitting a television cable Thursday and aggravated the injury Saturday afternoon.
He arrived on site at Oakmont Country Club for an abbreviated warm-up Sunday, but after approximately a half-dozen pitch shots, he was unable to continue.
Conners had an incredible start Saturday at Oakmont, going 3 under for his first five holes. But he hit his approach on No. 11 into a plugged lie and after hacking it out was seen holding his wrist.
He waited for medical attention from Canadian sports chiropractor Dr. Stuart Love but did not receive care until he was on the 12th tee due to logistical challenges at the course.
After some shakes and stretches by Dr. Love, Conners did manage to hit two shots over 300 yards on the par-5 12th but struggled coming home, shooting a 5-over 40 on his back nine.
He was 8-over for the championship heading into Sunday’s finale.
It was Conners’ first withdrawal of his PGA Tour career.
Conners has recorded five top-10 finishes so far this season (including at the Masters) on the PGA Tour and sits 10th in the FedExCup standings.
Venezuela's Jhonattan Vegas, back-to-back winner of the RBC Canadian Open in 2016 and '17, replaces Conners in the Travelers field.
