Conor McGregor is going under the knife.
The UFC star indicated he will have surgery for the apparent knee injury he suffered on Saturday in an Instagram post on Monday.
"Surgery. Prehab. Return to martial arts practice. Go again. Final fight of the contract. Please God!" he wrote.
McGregor's much-anticipated return to the Octagon at UFC 329 in Las Vegas ended in disappointment as the veteran Irish fighter lasted only 1:09 with Max Holloway before the fight was forced to be stopped because of the injury he suffered attempting a flying roundhouse kick.
The 37-year-old said after that he had not battled any similar injuries in training, and he vowed to return to the mat.
"The devil is literally staring at me right in front of my face here. I am not engaging," he wrote on X on Sunday. "I will be at church tomorrow. I will overcome this. I will not be deterred. I will return."
It is unclear how much time McGregor will need to rehab and get back into shape for a UFC bout. He has one fight left on his contract with the promotion following a five-year absence from the sport.
