Gane, Moreno highlight favourites on UFC 270 odds

UFC handicapper Lou Finocchiaro joins Follow The Money to break down the main event between Francis Ngannou and Cyril Gane, to give his picks and give betting advice to help you come out on top.

The UFC heavyweight title will be up for grabs on Saturday night. Reigning champion Francis Ngannou takes on interim champion Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 as a +124 underdog on the UFC odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Listed as -125 chalk on the opening odds, Ngannou has steadily lost support at sports betting sites despite recording dominating wins in five straight fights going into Saturday night's bout in Anaheim, Calif.

Ngannou has been idle since claiming the heavyweight crown with an impressive second-round knockout win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 260, which also improved his professional MMA record to 16-3.

The 35-year-old native of Cameroon blazed his trail to the top of the UFC heavyweight division with first-round finishes in each of his previous four outings. Ngannou is undefeated in fights lasting less than two full rounds since joining the UFC in 2015.

Set as the -152 betting favourite, Gane will be vying to improve his unblemished pro MMA record to 11-0 when he steps into the octagon for Saturday night's main event. Gane has taken the UFC by storm since joining the promotion in August 2019. The 31-year-old Frenchman has tallied seven straight victories, capped by a third-round TKO win over Derrick Lewis at UFC 265 that earned him the interim UFC heavyweight title.

Gane has finished opponents in four of his seven UFC contests and earned a pair of Performance of the Night bonuses in the process. However, he has also proven his ability to go the distance with recent five-round unanimous decision wins over Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

The flyweight title will also be on the line on Saturday when reigning champion Brandon Moreno faces off once again against Deiveson Figueiredo as a -175 favourite on the UFC betting lines. This marks the third meeting between these rivals since December 2020. Figueiredo managed to retain the flyweight crown in their first clash at UFC 246 on the strength of a majority draw.

However, Moreno clearly dominated their first rematch at UFC 263, claiming a third-round win by submission. Moreno is now undefeated in seven straight overall outings and has seen each of his past six fights that have gone at least three full rounds ultimately get decided by the judges.

Elsewhere on the UFC 270 odds, Michel Pereira is set as -285 chalk in his matchup with fellow welterweight Andre Fialho. Said Nurmagomedov has vaulted to a short -200 wager in his bantamweight clash with Cody Stamann, while Rodolfo Vieira faces Wellington Turman as -230 chalk in a battle of middleweights.
