A new undisputed UFC heavyweight title will be crowned in a couple of months.
The UFC announced on Saturday that interim champion Ciryl Gane will fight sixth-ranked contender Josh Hokit for the undisputed title in the main event of UFC 334 on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden.
Gane has held the interim title since June, when he TKO'd former two-division champ Alex Pereira in his heavyweight debut.
"Bon Gamin" previously challenged former undisputed champ Tom Aspinall in Oct. 2025, a fight that ended in a no-contest when an eye poke from Gane rendered the Englishman unable to continue.
Aspinall has not fought since, due to the lingering injury, and announced on Monday that he'd decided to vacate the title as he continues to navigate setbacks in his recovery.
Now Gane has a chance to strip the interim tag away for a second time in his career. He first earned the interim heavyweight belt back in Aug. 2021, with a stoppage victory over Derrick Lewis, but lost a unification bout to Francis N'Gannou in Jan. 2022.
Standing in Gane's way this time will be Hokit, one of the hottest fighters in the division. The American will enter the matchup riding a perfect 4-0-0 UFC record since debuting in Nov. 2025. Three of his wins have come via TKO, all in the second round or earlier, earning him four performance bonuses along the way. Hokit last fought at UFC Freedom 250, when he dispatched Lewis.
The co-main will also put a belt on the line, as Kayla Harrison will take on former champ Amanda Nunes for the women's bantamweight title.
Harrison and Nunes were meant to fight back in January, but the champ had to pull out due to a neck injury.
The 36-year-old Harrison made a rapid rise up the UFC ranks, earning the title with a second-round submission over Julianna Pena in just her third fight under the banner. But now she'll take on the toughest test of her pro MMA career in her first defence of the 135-pound belt.
Nunes has not stepped into an octagon since her retirement in 2023, but is largely considered one of the most dominant women's fighters in UFC history.
She was the only female fighter to become a two-division champion (featherweight and bantamweight) and just the third fighter ever to hold UFC titles in two weight classes at the same time, joining Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier. Nunes held onto the bantamweight title between 2016-2019 and successfully defended the belt five times. In between that reign, she captured the featherweight belt by knocking out Cris Cyborg and then defended it twice.
Nunes only lost twice through her 18 UFC fights, the second of which came in 2021 to Pena and cost the Brazilian her bantamweight belt. Although, she would then reclaim the title seven months later in a rematch and defend it against Irene Aldana before retiring.
