Canadian Bianca Andreescu will not be playing for Canada in the Billie Jean King Cup.
Tennis Canada did not provide a reason for Andreescu's withdrawal from the tournament and did not name a replacement.
Led by captain Heidi El Tabakh, Canada also has Leylah Fernandez, Rebecca Marino, Gabi Dabrowski, and Marina Stakusic as part of the team.
Canada will take on the winner of the match between Great Britain and Germany in the quarterfinals on Nov. 17.
Canada is looking to become the first team since Czechia in 2016 to defend their title. Canada beat Italy 2-0 to win their first Billie Jean King Cup.
Andreescu last played in the quarterfinals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open dropping a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Britain's Katie Boulter.
The 24-year-old has been battling injuries, appearing in 21 matches in 2024 with her best result coming back in June at the Libema Open where she lost in the final.
