Flames’ Giordano out for at least 7 days

Mark Giordano, the Calgary Flames’ defensive leader and arguably its best player this season, has been placed on the team’s injured reserve for a minimum of seven days, Sportsnet’s Roger Millions reports.

Giordano pulled his hamstring Tuesday during the Flames’ 1-0 shutout of the Nashville Predators and is now out indefinitely.

In other Flames news, winger Pierre-Luc Letourneau Leblond has been placed on waivers with the intent of sending him to AHL Abbotsford, and defenceman Brett Carson has been sent for conditioning stint to Abbotsford for a maximum of14 days.
