Doan given hockey stick made of Skittles

“I never thought I’d ever be holding a stick top to bottom made of Skittles,” Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan said in an interview with PhoenixCoyotes.com. “I haven’t tried any of them. I think they’re glued on.”

If a candy-maker sends you a hockey stick completely covered in glue and a delicious fruity treat, it would be wise not to take a bite, no matter how tempting. But you shouldn’t just hang it on the wall. You should make good use of it.

Surprised by the gift, Doan says the stick is quite heavy. A father of four, Doan’s children and their friends have been playing with the stick and getting their picture taken with it. The blade, however, is holding up well.

“The reason I got the stick, I’m not totally sure. I enjoy Skittles, but I’m not an avid consumer of Skittles. My kids enjoy Skittles,” Doan said. “Kids love to go to the movies, and they love eating Skittles at the movies.

“I’m pretty sure these are tropical Skittles,” Doan added, “which are the best.”
