Islanders re-sign Adam Boqvist to one-year, $850K deal

Adam Boqvist is staying with the New York Islanders.

The defenceman signed a one-year, $850,000 deal with the Islanders, the team announced Friday.

Picked up off waivers from the Florida Panthers in January, Boqvist, 24, had four goals and 10 assists in 35 NHL games last season.

In six career seasons with the Islanders, Panthers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Chicago Blackhawks, the Sweden native has 99 points (27 goals and 72 assists) in 244 games.

The Blackhawks picked the London Knights product eighth overall in the 2018 NHL Draft.
