The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled defenceman Max Lajoie from the Toronto Marlies, their AHL affiliate, the team announced Friday.

Lajoie, 26, appeared in four games for the Maple Leafs this season, but has spent the majority of time in the minors. With the Marlies, Lajoie has two goals and 15 assists in 31 games.

Selected in the fifth round of the NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators, Lajoie has appeared in 74 NHL games between the Senators, Carolina Hurricanes and Maple Leafs, with seven goals and eight assists, all scored in 2017-18 with the Senators.
