Toronto Raptors guard/forward Norman Powell has left the game against the Utah Jazz with a left shoulder sprain.
UPDATE: Further investigation revealed a subluxation (read: partial dislocation) of his left shoulder and he will be re-evaluated on Tuesday, the team confirmed.
Powell appeared to hurt himself when attempting to take the ball from Rudy Gobert on the perimeter on a dribble hand-off and will not return to the game.
The injury occurred early in the second quarter with the Raptors trailing the Jazz by single digits.
Kawhi Leonard is sitting out the game as he rests a jammed left foot suffered against the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 2.
The 27-year-old superstar didn’t play in Sunday’s 121-107 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, consistent with the team’s plan thus far to have him sit out one end of back-to-back games, but this will be the first time he sits out both games.
Leonard is averaging 26.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and two steals over seven game as a Raptor thus far, while Lowry has been tremendous in his absence, putting up 18 points, 4.3 rebounds and a career-high 11.6 assists which leads the league.
Donovan Mitchell is sitting out for the Utah Jazz with a sprained left ankle.
