Canadiens’ Victor Mete out for rest of regular season with fractured foot

Nikki Reyes and Eric Engels breakdown what the Canadiens accomplished following the trade deadline and whether there is a clear direction the team is going in.

Montreal Canadiens defenceman Victor Mete will miss the rest of the team’s regular season with a fractured foot.

Mete, 21, was hurt last week against the Red Wings after blocking a shot from Detroit’s Alex Biega.

In 51 games this season, he averaged 16 minutes of ice time and contributed four goals and seven assists.

The Canadiens have been ravaged by injuries all season long to some of their top players including Jonathan Drouin, Shea Weber and Brendan Gallagher.
