Golden Knights recall Dansk; Fleury won’t travel with team

Vegas Golden Knights' Marc-Andre Fleury takes Brandon Sutter's shot to the mask, and does not return for the second period.

The Vegas Golden Knights have recalled Oscar Dansk on an emergency basis as reported by Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press.

This comes after Marc-Andre Fleury was forced to leave Tuesday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks after taking a shot from Brandon Sutter off the mask. The 33-year-old is considered day-to-day and will remain in Vegas according to head coach Gerrard Gallant.

Fleury missed 25 games at the beginning of the season with a concussion but there is no indication of the severity of the injury.

Malcolm Subban is expected to take over as the starter. He has an 11-3-1 record in 17 games this season posting a 2.55 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage.

In four games this season with the Golden Knights, Dansk has a 3-0 record with a 1.78 GAA and a .946 save percentage. In 11 games in the AHL, the 24-year-old has an 8-1-2 record with a 2.59 GAA and a .916 save percentage.

Vegas play its next two games on the road against the San Jose Sharks and the Colorado Avalanche then return home to play the Avalanche.
