Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced that the club has agreed to a one-year contract (2010-2011) with defenceman Kyle Klubertanz.
Klubertanz, 24, played in 55 games last season with Djurgardens of the Swedish Elite League ranking second on the team, first amongst defencemen in points with 31 (12 goals, 19 assists). The 6-foot-1, 180-pound defender played in five regular season games with the Portland Pirates of the AHL in 2007-2008, recording two penalty minutes. The native of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin was drafted in the 3rd round, 74th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
