Penguins’ Kris Letang won’t have hearing for throat slash

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby joins Kyle Bukauskas following the Pens Game 3 victory over the New York Rangers.

Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Kris Letang will not face a hearing with the NHL’s department of player safety after striking New York’s Viktor Stalberg in the throat during Game 3 of their first-round playoff series.

Letang was clearing the puck out of the corner when he swung his stick into the throat of Stalberg Tuesday night.

Pittsburgh downed the Rangers 3-1 to take a 2-1 series lead.
