Ceremonial puck drops are usually fairly standard. A special guest walks to centre ice, shakes the hands of both captains, poses for a photo op, then lightly drops the puck. The home captain gives the puck back to said special guest, everyone smiles and the game gets underway.
A Rob Gronkowski ceremonial puck drop takes a different route.

Gronk, along with some of his New England Patriots teammates, were guests of the Boston Bruins Saturday and the superstar tight end was in charge of the ceremonial puck drop before the Bruins hosted the New York Islanders Saturday.
