Sabres re-sign forward C.J. Smith to two-year contract

The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward C.J. Smith to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

The contract has an average annual value of $700,000.

Smith recorded 28 goals and 58 points in 62 games for the Rochester Americans last season in the American Hockey League. He also ranked second in goals and assists for the team, and third in assists.

The forward was signed by Buffalo as a free agent in March 2017. The Des Moines, Iowa native has recorded two goals and three points in 13 career NHL games.
