The Toronto Blue Jays are facing yet another injury to a key piece of their lineup.
Centre-fielder Daulton Varsho left Friday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the third inning with left knee discomfort, per a team announcement.
Varsho took one at-bat in the top of the first, striking out looking, and played two innings defensively before Myles Straw took over in centre.
After the game, Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters that the discomfort is from Varsho's quad down to his knee.
Schneider added that Varsho is considered day-to-day and won't undergo imaging.
The 29-year-old entered Friday as one of Toronto's hottest hitters. After his first-inning strikeout, Varsho owned a .262/.333/.462 slashline with three home runs and four doubles.
Varsho dealt with shoulder and hamstring issues in 2025, but still managed to hit 20 home runs in the 71 games that he did play.
If Varsho were to miss any more time, it would further test the Blue Jays' depth, as lineup regulars George Springer, Addison Barger and Alejandro Kirk are already on the injured list.
