Seiya Suzuki stepped into the cage and took some cuts. Literally.
The Chicago Cubs star entered a batting cage on Tuesday and took some swings with a samurai sword.
The sword sliced the baseballs in half, with one ricocheting into the team's social media admin who was filming him.
The Arakawa, Japan, native made the move to MLB in 2022 and is coming off his most productive season yet with the Cubs. In 2024 the right fielder hit .283/.366/.482 with 21 home runs.
Suzuki and the Cubs are in Japan for MLB's Tokyo Series. The Cubs will take on the Hanshin Tigers on Saturday before playing two games against the Dodgers next week.
