The Colorado Avalanche may be busy with Round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs, but that isn't stopping them from tinkering with the roster.
Forward Zakhar Bardakov agreed to a one-year, entry-level contract with the Avalanche for the 2025-26 season, the team announced on Sunday.
Bardakov, 24, spent this year with the KHL's SKA St. Petersburg. He posted 35 points through a career-high 53 regular-season games. His 17 goals and 18 assists were also personal bests, as was his plus-20 net rating. The alternate captain ranked joint-fourth on St. Petersburg for goals and eighth for points.
He also notched a goal and an assist in the opening round of the KHL playoffs.
Through 209 regular-season appearances in the KHL between 2020-25, Bardakov has tallied 79 career points (38 goals, 41 assists).
The Russian native also spent three seasons with the MHL's Russkie Vityazi from 2018 to 2021, tallying 70 points (32 goals, 38 assists) in 104 games.
Bardakov also represented his country at the 2021 IIHF world junior championship where he put up a goal and an assist through seven games.
Originally drafted by the Devils in the seventh round (203rd overall) in the 2021 draft, Bardakov was acquired by Colorado in a trade with New Jersey on March 1, 2024.
