Ducks' Zegras leaves pre-season game with upper-body injury after massive hit

Watch as Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras is forced to leave the pre-season game against the Arizona Coyotes after taking a massive open ice hit from Jan Janik, with Adam Henrique taking exception to the play after the whistle.

Anaheim Ducks centre Trevor Zegras left Wednesday's pre-season game against the Arizona Coyotes with an upper-body injury after receiving a big hit from winger Jan Jenik.

Zegras corralled the puck in the neutral zone mid-way through the second period before Jenik met him with an open-ice hit as he attempted to carry the puck over centre ice.

The 21-year-old captivated fans with innovative lacrosse-style goals and assists throughout the 2021-22 NHL season. He finished second in Calder Trophy voting with 23 goals and 38 assists in 75 games.
