William Nylander is heading home to play in the men's world hockey championships.
Team Sweden announced Wednesday morning that the Toronto Maple Leafs superstar will be joining the team in Stockholm ahead of the quarterfinals.
Sweden finished second in Group A after a loss to Canada on Tuesday. They will play Czechia in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Nylander, 29, is coming off his third-straight 40-goal season, scoring a career-high 45 times this season. He led the Maple Leafs in scoring in the playoffs with 15 points in 13 games.
