Noah Gregor's gamble on a professional tryout agreement has paid off.
The veteran forward has been signed by the Florida Panthers, the team announced Tuesday, agreeing to a one-year, two-way contract.
The signing adds much-needed depth to the Panthers' forward corps as they navigate early-season injuries to key players.
Gregor, 27, attended the Panthers' training camp on a PTO after splitting the previous season between the Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks, where he totalled seven points in 52 games.
Captain Aleksander Barkov was placed on long-term injured reserve on Tuesday. This move freed up the necessary cap space to officially sign Gregor and recall prospect Justin Samoskevich.
