Blackhawks re-sign Andreas Athanasiou to two-year, $4.25M deal

The Chicago Blackhawks have re-signed forward Andreas Athanasiou to a two-year deal with an AAV of $4.25 million.

Athanasiou, who was a pending UFA, spent the entire 2022-23 season with the Blackhawks, recording 20 goals and 20 assists in 81 games.

The 28-year-old from Woodbridge, Ont., previously played for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings. Over 459 career games, he’s totalled 236 points (125 goals and 111 assists).
