Canada's Rebecca Marino is through to the semifinals of the L&T Mumbai Open.
The second-seeded Marino defeated Japan's Mai Hontama 6-3, 6-4 during Friday's quarterfinals in the WTA 125 hard-court tournament.
Marino fired seven aces and won 73 per cent of her opening serve points while converting five of six break point attempts in the match that was completed in one hour, 19 minutes.
The 34-year-old from Toronto will play Thailand's Mananchaya Sawangkaew in the semifinals.
Marino is ranked 103rd in the world.
