Toronto Blue Jays ace Hyun-Jin Ryu plans to remain in Dunedin, Fla., the home of the team’s spring training facility, after the MLB pushed back opening day until at least mid-May due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae.
The MLB has allowed players to stay at their team’s spring training facility, report to their club’s home city or go to their own home.
Mae added that Ryu continues to work out daily at the Blue Jays’ TD Ballpark.
Ryu, 32, was the club’s big-ticket off-season signing, inking a four-year, $80-million contract with Toronto.
The left-hander had a 14-5 record with a 2.32 ERA with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season.
