Blue Jays take Zach Britton to close out 2020 MLB Draft

The Toronto Blue Jays selected Louisville outfielder Zach Britton with their final pick in the 2020 MLB Draft.

All five selections Toronto made over the two-day draft were college players, highlighted by first-rounder Austin Martin.

Britton slashed an impressive .322/.446/.542 in 17 games with Louisville this season and led all of Division 1 with 11 doubles. He posted an .837 OPS with five home runs in 55 NCAA contests in 2019.

The 21-year-old played exclusively in the outfield in 2020, but has also seen time at first base and catcher during his development.
