Steve Delabar has been named to the American League all-star team.
The Toronto Blue Jays reliever earned the most fan votes to edge out Joaquin Benoit, David Robertson, Tanner Scheppers, and Koji Uehara for the final spot on the AL roster.
In 37 games this season, Delabar has compiled a 5-1 record with a 1.74 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, one save and 57 strikeouts.
He will be the fourth player to represent the Blue Jays at the all-star game as first baseman Edwin Encarnacion, right fielder Jose Bautista and reliever Brett Cecil were named to the team last week.
The #RaiseTheBar hashtag grew extremely popular in Canada over the past week and even the Prime Minister of Canada showed his support for Delabar.
The Blue Jays acquired the reliever from the Seattle Mariners last season in exchange for outfielder Eric Thames.
Atlanta’s Freddie Freeman edged out Ian Desmond, Adrian Gonzalez, Hunter Pence, and Yasiel Puig for the National League spot.
It will be Delabar’s first career all-star appearance.
