The Toronto Blue Jays are reportedly among teams who could be a “potential fit” for Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Josh Harrison.
The New York Mets and New York Yankees are also listed as teams who could be in the running for Harrison, according to the report from Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
Harrison, 30, is owed $10.5 million in 2018 and has $10.5 and $11.5 million team options the two following seasons
In last year’s all-star campaign, Harrison started 79 games at second base, 37 at third and six in the corner outfield positions. He’s played more than 700 innings in the outfield through his seven-year career.
At the dish, Harrison slotted in the lead-off spot 29 times for the Pirates and hit second in the lineup on 77 occasions. His 2.6 fWAR was second among Pirates hitters, sliding in behind Andrew McCutchen.
An earlier report from Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune said the Blue Jays are among “a handful of other clubs” who have contacted the Pirates about Harrison.
