Blue Jays trade LHP Randy Wolf to Tigers for cash

The Toronto Blue Jays traded left-handed pitcher Randy Wolf to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for cash considerations Thursday.

Wolf was 9-2 with a 2.58 ERA with the Buffalo Bisons this season. The soon-to-be 39-year-old never suited up for the Blue Jays. The Bisons were 15-8 in games Wolf started. Wolf last played in the majors in 2014 when he spent time with the Miami Marlins.

The Tigers were in need of some help on the mound after starting pitchers Anibal Sanchez and former Blue Jay Daniel Norris were placed on the 15-day disabled list.

This is the eighth MLB team Wolf has joined in his career. He spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Philadelphia Phillies and has also spent time with the Brewers, Dodgers, Padres, Orioles and Astros.
