Canadians Ennis, Brissett highlight Raptors 905 opening day roster

Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors’ G League affiliate, announced its final roster for the 2019–20 season Tuesday.

Headlining the group are three Canadians in 2014 first-round draft pick Tyler Ennis (Brampton, Ont.), two-way player Oshae Brissett (Mississauga, Ont.), and returning 905 guard Duane Notice (Woodbridge, Ont.).

Other notable names include Shamorie Ponds, the team’s second two-way player who spent time with the Houston Rockets during 2019 NBA Summer League, and Sagaba Konate, who sustained an injury while preparing for training camp and is out indefinitely.

In order to reduce the roster to 12 players, Mike Davis, Leland King II, Xavier Moon, Jean-Victor Mukama, and Mike Parks Jr. were all waived.

Jama Mahlalela will helm the team as the head coach for the second-straight season, and his revamped staff includes Eric Khoury, Dawood Ahktar, Wumi Agunbiade, and Will Rooney. Assistant coach Ryan Schmidt returns to the sidelines for his third season, while Charles Kissi, Charles Dube-Brais, and Arsalan Jamil all return as assistants for their second campaign.
