Raptors’ Serge Ibaka flying to Toronto to rehab sprained ankle

Toronto Raptors centre Serge Ibaka is heading home to Toronto to rehab his sprained ankle, according to Sportsnet’s Eric Smith.

The Raptors are currently in Los Angeles, as part of a five-game road trip, for a back-to-back against the Lakers and Clippers on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

Norman Powell is also expected to start against the Lakers in place of point guard Kyle Lowry, who sustained a fracture in his left thumb.

The team announced Saturday that Ibaka and Lowry are both out indefinitely after getting hurt during Friday night’s 122-104 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Lowry will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
