Belanger saves 17 as Huskies blank Mooseheads

HALIFAX — Alexandre Belanger had 17 saves for his first shutout of the year as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies blanked the Halifax Mooseheads 5-0 on Thursday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Ryan Penny scored his fifth goal of the season to open the scoring 12:36 into the game for the Huskies (4-4-0). Alexandre Fortin scored his first of the season before the end of the first.

Jeremy Auger had the lone second-period goal while Francis Perron and Antoine Waked rounded out the scoring in the third.

Zachary Fucale suffered the loss for Halifax (2-4-1) making 36 saves on 41 shots.

The Huskies went 1 for 3 on the man advantage while Halifax couldn’t capitalize on their only power-play opportunity.
