QMJHL Roundup: Mooseheads win Game 3 for 3-0 series lead over Wildcats

MONCTON, N.B. — Raphael Lavoie scored two goals, including an empty-netter in the final minute, and the Halifax Mooseheads doubled up the Moncton Wildcats 4-2 on Tuesday to take a commanding lead in their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League second-round playoff series.

Xavier Parent and Brock McLeod also scored for Halifax, which leads the best-of-seven series 3-0.

Jordan Spence and Christian Huntley scored for the Wildcats.

Mooseheads goaltender Alexis Gravel stopped 35 shots. Moncton’s Francis Leclerc made 33 saves.

The Wildcats host Game 4 Wednesday night.

SYDNEY, N.S. — Colten Ellis stopped all 18 shots he faced as Rimouski topped the Screaming Eagles in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in their second-round playoff series.

Alexis Lafreniere scored twice for the Oceanic and Carson MacKinnon rounded out the offence.

Kevin Mandolese made 12 saves for Cape Breton.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Samuel Harvey made 20 saves and Alex Beaucage scored twice as Rouyn-Noranda beat the Tigres for a 3-0 advantage in their playoff series.

Louis-Filip Cote had a goal and three assists for the Huskies and Peter Abbandonato, Justin Bergeron, Tyler Hinam, Jakub Lauko and Vincent Marleau also scored.

Tristan Cote-Cazenave started in the Victoriaville net, allowing four goals on 17 shots through 25:06. Fabio Iacobo stopped 12-of-16 attempts the rest of the way.
