Blues’ Bortuzzo to have hearing for cross-checking Predators’ Arvidsson

St. Louis Blues defenceman Robert Bortuzzo will have a hearing for a cross-checking penalty he took against the Nashville Predators Saturday.

The incident occurred early in the first period. With players crashing the Blues’ net, Bortuzzo cross-checked the Predators’ Viktor Arvidsson, sending him flying into the net.

Bortuzzo was given a two-minute minor penalty on the play and Arvidsson left the game with a lower-body injury.

The 30-year-old has been suspended before. In September of 2018 he was suspended for two pre-season games and one regular season game for elbowing Capitals defenceman Michal Kempny in the head. And in December of 2014, he was suspended for two games for a high hit on Jaromir Jagr.

The Predators won the game 4-2. The teams will play a rematch in Nashville on Monday.
