Oilers goaltender Fasth unveils new mask

Viktor Fasth will no longer be wearing a blank canvas on his face for the Edmonton Oilers.

The 31-year-old goaltender, acquired via the Anaheim Ducks on March 4, had been rocking the all-white face protection for the Oilers, but now that mask artist David Gunnarsson has finished his handiwork, Fasth will look a little more stylish next time he takes to the ice.

As is quickly becoming the Oilers’ way, the club itself was the first to release images of the goaltender’s new mask, tweeting out the images Wednesday:

Ironically, Fasth’s artistry was on full display prior to getting geared up with the new design. The netminder is 2-0-1 with a sparkling 1.59 goals-against average and .940 save percentage in his first three games played with his new club.
