Hurricanes activate forward Victor Rask off injured reserve

The Carolina Hurricanes activated forward Victor Rask from the injured non-roster list, the team announced Wednesday morning.

Rask hasn’t played this season after undergoing surgery on two fingers on his right hand in mid September. The 25-year-old injured himself while preparing food in his kitchen.

The Swedish centre has 157 points in 313 games over four seasons since being drafted by the Hurricanes in 2011. Rask, a quality two-way player who’s reliable in the faceoff circle, had 14 goals and 31 points in 71 games during the 2017-18 campaign.

Rask is expected to centre his team’s fourth line between Warren Foegele and Phil Di Giuseppe Wednesday when the Hurricanes visit the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In a corresponding roster move, the team assigned forward Clark Bishop to the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers.
