Islanders’ Ryan Pulock out 1-2 weeks with upper-body injury

New York Islanders defenceman Ryan Pulock is out for the remainder of Round 1 and could miss up to two weeks with an upper-body injury.

Pulock, a rookie, has a goal and two assists through the first four games of New York’s first-round series against the Florida Panthers.

The 21-year-old was taken with the 15th pick of the 2013 NHL Draft and had four points (two goals, two assists) in 15 regular season games with the Islanders.

Head coach Jack Capuano said that Marek Zidlicky will replace Pulock on the Islanders’ blue line.

Zidlicky, 38, played in 53 games during the regular season, scoring four goals and adding 12 assists. He has 15 points (one goal, 14 assists) in 44 career playoff appearances.

The Islanders will be in Florida for Game 5 against the Panthers Friday night. The game can be seen on Sportsnet at 8 p.m. ET.
